VISITOR'S COMMENTS

5th visit and wonderful as always! Spectacular rainbows! Be back in the Spring! (Oct 22)

We had a really most enjoyable week and will definitely be back to explore some time in the future. The house is really lovely and all three of us remarked on how comfy the beds were, you have done an amazing job with it.(Sep 22}

Back for a 3rd year, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you! (Aug 22)

Back for a second year, fantastic 2 weeks - boys in the water, beautiful beaches as ever, spotted golden eagle at Kylesku. Will be back. Thank you so much (Jul 22)

Lovely week introducing friends to Old Man of Stoer, The Broch, Handa, The Bone Caves etc, followed by two weeks fishing. Trout for breakfast most days, varying from 7 oz to 22 oz. Thankfully no moles this year but too many rabbits. No signs of the buzzards, probably linked to several new born lambs this year.. (June 22)

A fantastic 3 weeks. Loved the baby wagtails being fed by mum in the garden. Fishing Very Good but not much pollock around in the sea. Lovely to visit the usual haunts and walks. We'll be back next year!

When we get home we will purchase a new mattress, inspired by the comfort here! (May 22)

The Brigs is a lovely holiday cottage. You have thought of all the amenities. (May 22)

The house as ever is so comfortable, and we love all the new curtains. (May 22)

The Brigs spotless and well provided as ever (Apr 22)

We found the house brilliant, and can't think of anything needed to improve it. Was the best house we have stayed in the area in terms of comfort and how well it is equipped. (Apr 22)

The house was great, and very well equipped. Magical swimming in Clashnessie Bay. Mobile signal on 4gEE excellent, on o2 dreadful. (July 18)

Fantastic 3 weeks despite Storm Hector. House immaculate as ever. Saw otters in Clashnessie Bay, minkie whales at Oldshoremore, dolphins on crossing to Stornaway, and a first glimpse of a sea eagle in Clashnessie. Fishing as great as ever. Will hopefully be back next year. (June 18)

The Brigs is a wonderful place to stay. Felt at home straight away - so clean and comfortable. We sat in the car to enjoy the peace on arrival. A cuckoo struck up as if by order. It sang for most of the next 2 days and much of the week thereafter. Lovely week in one our favourite places to be. (May 18)

Brilliant Week again at The Brigs. Weather unbelievable- 27 degrees mostly. Visited beach at Oldshoremore Bay. Cuckoo clock still working! Thankyou to everyone who keeps the house in such a clean and comfortable way.(May/June 18)

Another wonderful stay at The Brigs. Huge thanks as always to Robert , Maggie and Fiona for keeping everything so impeccably clean. Perfect. (May 18)

Our third great holiday at The Brigs. All three generations enjoyed a week in perfect weather. Puffins on Handa a highlight of the week. (June 18)

8th visit!  That probably says it all. We visited all our favourite walks and eateries (shame that the Albannach no longer offers their excellent evening meal) and relaxed at home on the couple of days when it was too wet and windy. Very comfortable and warm, and with everything you could need.Beautifully clean on arrival. (May 18)

A beautiful cottage in excellent surroundings. A proper home from home. Lovely walks. (March 18)

Great week in a lovely warm cottage. We would like to come back again. (October 17)

A delightful return to The Brigs after a 4 year gap. It felt like a retreat, such peace, tranquillity, rain and wind. We hope to be back one day to this special place. (October 17)

We have travelled the NW many times, and this was the first time we have taken our children and my mum. Clashnessie was by far the best place we could have chosen for our base. We didn't want to leave, and could have spent lots more time just exploring the local countryside. We will be back! The house is in the most perfect location, clean and very well equipped for all occasions. We visited the beach several times, wandered to the waterfall and around the surrounding lochs and hillsides. Boat trip to Handa was well worth the visit, even late in the season, with lots of sea birds, and the puffins! On our one rainy day we visited the North Highlands Rock Shop for coffee and cakes and took a hike up Knockan Crag - amazing as always. Stunning views from Stoes Lighthouse. Culkein Store, Jammery and Craft Shop was a great find (July/August 17).

We also enjoyed the Shetland scallops from the seafood van, who we found in the car park opposite the Lochinver Store at Friday lunchtime. They went well with the 100 mussels gathered from the river at low water in Culkein (go when the tide is low, beyond the rock on Clashnessie beach). Some fine trout in the 8-16 oz range from our favourite local lochs, despite bright sunlight and strong winds which combined to keep the midges at bay! House immaculate as ever, thanks to Fiona (July 17)

Fabulous visit in the Glen of the Waterfall. Summer Solstice was magical - a never ending day and night on the beach. Local lochs provided a wild adventure with over 30 brown trout. Truly delightful home, cosy with amazing views. Best scallops ever from the seafood van visiting Clachtol Campsite (June17)

I have been visiting Assynt for over 30 years and am used to the dramatic scenery but the view from the hills behind the house is astonishing. I got a clear view from Foinaven in the north taking in all of the mountains like a catalogue list all the way past Coigach in the south. An easy walk for everyone and well worth it, with very interesting terrain above the falls.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brigs. Its very much like a home from home. A lot of rentals can seem as sterile and uninspiring as hotels, but the Brigs provides a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment. Its the first time I have stayed at a rental that provides nice touches like binoculars. We all really appreciated that the beds and sofas are very comfortable.

Such a great location ....... We had everything we needed at the house & loved the location & views. We even made it to the Highland Games which was a fab day out. Would certainly recommend The Brigs to others.

Wow!  Two weeks excellent weather for walks, paddling, and nature watching and The Brigs so comfortable to come back to.

Amazing place. Stunning views from the house. Saw deer and seals. Don't want to go home. Will certainly come back again.

A great week despite mixed weather. Amazing house. Superb location. Very comfortable and enjoyable time. Thank you.

Wonderful week with our family here at the Brigs. The house had everything we needed. Thank you.

Great Location, wildlife, hills, lochs, sea - fantastic. Good fishing for mackerel, pollock & brown trout. Spotted dolphins, porpoises and sea eagles off Stoer.  Guest stars Basil Brush, Stinky the Badger & Vladimir the Common Gull were frequent visitors

Lots of beach trips and swimming in the sea. Went on evening wildlife/fishing trip with Paul from Handa Island ferry - 100 dolphins and porpoises around the boat - fantastic for the kids and well worth the £50 for 4 for 2 hours. They also sell lobsters and other shell fish.

A second fantastic holiday here with 2 weeks great weather. So many wonderful walks and lots of wildlife. Lovely trip to Handa once again.

We had such a great time. May we book the same weeks next year?

Happy to recommend your cottage to friends. The location is fantastic.

Great week and lovely weather. No rain at all! Good fishing (pollock) from rocks on the beach when the tide is in. Wish we had a second week.

We had a great time on holiday and have promised ourselves to go back sometime. The house was fabulous, well equipped and very comfortable. There's not much more could have been provided. I'll definitely be recommending your property to friends and family.

We had a fantastic holiday which included seeing the sun and some beach days for the kids. The house apart from being in a stunning location, was lovely and clean and very well equipped for all 9 of us. Thank you for having us, we would love to come back some time.

We really enjoyed our stay at Easter.  The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The views were fantastic, and we have loads of superb photographs.

One of the cleanest self catering cottages we have ever used.  Your housekeeper is to be congratulated.

Lovely cosy house in a beautiful location - we have had a fabulous time (Oct 14)

Third year running - fantastic! (Sep 14)

Quiet, peaceful and beautiful location. We must return in the summer (Sep 14 - South Africa)

Well appointed cottage with expansive views, a place to rest and rejuvenate (Sep 14 - New South Wales)

We had an awesome time in your home and the surrounding countryside. To spend time there with my UK based brother, his wife and 2 boys was special. However I mostly want to congratulate you on your home and how well prepared it was for guests. In particular we loved the spaciousness of the living areas, lobby and bedrooms. We have told many others about your house and wonderful local area. Let us know if you travel this way. (Aug 14 - New Zealand)

Perfect place to spend quality time with our New Zealand cousins. Gorgeous setting. Great walks. Could sit and admire the view from the dining room window for another week at least! (Aug 14)

Every thing was quite perfect - the house, the views, the weather. I just could not close the bedroom curtain looking to the sea as it was so beautiful. Could have stayed there a long time. The whole area is so special and magical. We would certainly like to return and perhaps make it an annual event. (Jul 14)

Just to let you know we are back home after a wonderful week at your beautiful home. We were very fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed the beaches and mountains. Thank you so much for letting us stay it was a great tonic for us all! (Apr 14)

Picture postcard weather, amazing wildlife and immaculate cottage which catered for every need all made for an unforgettable holiday (Oct 13)

One of the cleanest self catering cottages we have ever used.  Your housekeeper is to be congratulated.
